A Summer Salon in the Desert
For one week in August, we are opening Desert Doghouse to friends, former guests, future collaborators, and people who have been curious about the house. Come for the afternoon, swim, stay for dinner, or turn it into a complimentary night or two away.
A great reason to disappear to Joshua Tree, without having to plan for much of anything.

Come for the Day or Stay for a Night or Two
Desert Doghouse is close enough to Los Angeles to come out in the morning, spend the day by the pool, stay for dinner, and head home that night.
Complimentary guest rooms will be available for one- and two-night stays. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

About Desert Doghouse
Desert Doghouse is a six-bedroom house near Joshua Tree, packed with antiques and art. It has three distinct living rooms, multiple patios, a large pool, pickleball, a music room, and plenty of areas to gather - or hide from the world.
The house has hosted many photo/film shoots, productions, dinners, creative projects, celebrations, and gatherings. It has been featured in the LA Times, Maxim, Vice, Robb Report etc.
Analog Week is a chance to use Desert Doghouse socially - to bring interesting people together and give guests who haven’t experienced it a reason to come see it for themselves.

Why “Analog” ?
We use “analog” as shorthand for things that tend to be better in person with people: cooking, talking, swimming, listening, reading, staying at the table too long, meeting someone by accident.
For a week, we’re making a little more room for those things.

What This Is NOT
Analog Week is not a conference, networking event, wellness retreat, or desert rager. There are no panels, forced introductions, pitching or expectation to be "on".
Outside of the curated dinners, there is nothing you are expected to attend. Some people will arrive knowing one another, many won’t know anyone. It’s OK to sit in the shade, read a book, or break away to check out other Joshua Tree sights.
No phone baskets or digital detox rules. The idea is simply to make non-digital things more appealing: a long dinner, a swim, a record, a book, a conversation, a walk. The desert may inspire you away from your phone, but we won’t ask you to put it away.

What Will Happen at Analog Week?
Arrive between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Drop your bag. Swim. Work for a while. Read. Nap. Meet someone or keep to yourself.
In the evenings, we’ll gather for a curated dinner and conversation, usually with one screening or musical performance per night.
Everything else is intentionally loose.
You do not need to stay for the night. Desert Doghouse is close enough to Los Angeles to come out in the morning, spend the day by the pool, stay for dinner, and head home that night. Alternatively, there are many other accommodations nearby.
Complimentary guest rooms will also be available for one- and two-night stays. Space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

About the Host
Interior designer, serial entrepreneur and restauranteur Chris Collins founded interior design firm The Analog Room (www.the-analog-room.com) after recognizing a growing desire for analog “third spaces”.
Environments designed for genuine human connection, away from screens, unnecessary noise, and digital overstimulation.
